THANK YOU!

Secrets of the Boudoir Burlesque did the Musicals in style on Sunday 5th June 2011 and we would like to say a huge 'thank you' to everyone who helped us make the music...and burlesque...of the night!

We think that SotBB's first ever boylesque act went down a treat and we loved having Doc Le Roc amongst our performers this Sunday!

Evie Farrah made her entrance to Secrets in a bird cage this time around and performed a plucky fan dance with beautiful blue feathers.  She later then landed her UFO on the SotBB stage and as "the top popped off, two disc like eyes appeared above the rim" and Evie emerged.  Evie the extra terrestrial showed us how a sexy silver burlesque alien can bring 'The War of The Worlds' to Sheffield!

Depravity Jane was our 'Sugar Daddy' as she payed tribute to 'Hedwig and the Angry Inch' by lavishing candy upon you all and launching a very interesting new trick in how take her tights off using a table!  Yee Haaa!

Our Transylvanians hope you liked their take on the 'Time Warp' and encouraged you all to dance along!

Dante Powerhouse returned to Secrets this month with his beautiful and enchanting pianist Claudia Ingolstadt, they blew us away with their live performance of 'Natureboy' from 'Moulin Rogue'.

Mistress Mimi was mesmerizing as ever and SotBB were so happy to have her back on their stage after a whole year of being absent from the show!  What an entrance she made - singing 'Xanadu' on roller skates - she truly made the stage into her very own roller rink!  She then later appeared in a blonde wig looking smoking hot as she sang her rendition of Sweet Charity's 'Big Spender'!

Newbie SotBB performers Ruby Rose and Dahlia Dee showed us that not only can they dance, but they can sing too with their smooth rendition of 'All That Jazz' in a double dance number!

Our wonderful compere Mr Warren Peace kept you amused all evening with his long legs and high heeled shoes along with his constant abuse of 'Dave the virgin'!  And what an opening number he put together for our Musicals show, performing 'Money Makes the World Go Round' along with the gorgeous and talented Miss Suzie McCue as Cybil Waugh!  We loved it!

Huge thank you's to The Dollhouse and Mad Hatter's Cupcakes who both donated fabulous prizes to our raffle!  We are sorry that Imogen's Imagination could not make it and we hope they get well soon.

Thank you to our venue West Street Live, and to our wonderful DJ Vince Spitfire.  Big thanks to Anwar Suliman and Davey Smith our photographers, to Rachael Parkes who designed our 'Musicals' flyers, and to John Slater for filming the show and creating beautiful posters for our 'House of Horrors', which will be coming up in September.

Last but not least, let us give a HUGE thank you to Scarlet Noir, Emily Dainty, Cherry Du Bois and Knickerbockerglory for being our glamorous cigarette girls, tending to the door all evening and choosing our best dressed guests!

...Right...I'm off for a lie down now so that I can recover from the hectic-ness of Sunday evening and prepare for our next show - 'House of Horrors'!

Don't forget that Secrets of the Boudoir Burlesque are giving burlesque lessons this Summer and if you would like to find out more, please email info@secretsoftheboudoirburlesque.com.

Much love,

Boylesque Comes to Secrets of the Boudoir Burlesque!

Ladies and gentlemen,

We will be showcasing our FIST EVER BOYLESQUE ACT this Sunday (the 5th of June) at Secrets of the Boudoir Burlesque Does Musicals!  The quirky Mr. Doc Le Roc will be landing 'Flash, Bang Wallop' onto our stage as he pays tribute to the musical 'Half A Sixpence' in an act especially designed for Secrets.  He will later then evolve into 'The Phantom of the Opera' and hold us all captive under his cloak with a cheeky wink and a satirical smile!

From Hull, UK, Doc began performing in October 2010 as a favour to a friend, he was asked to compare a burlesque show in his hometown and decided to throw some boylesque in there for good measure too!  He hasn't looked back since and loves performing everywhere and anywhere he can!

Doc takes a tongue in cheek approach to burlesque, he likes to throw in plenty of entertainment, amusement and comedy and says we shouldn't take ourselves too seriously when performing.  During our show on Sunday he will be performing a theatrical piece and a high energy striptease and we simply just can't wait!

We asked Doc what he was looking forward to the most about performing at SotBB on Sunday and he said,

"Trying something a little different.  I'm using more props and doing less striptease with my new routine (Half
A Sixpence), so it's something new for me".

And what is Doc's favourite musical?

"I'm a Rocky Horror kind of guy" he replies.

See Doc and many more fabulous performers pay tribute to the musicals this Sunday at Secrets of the Boudoir Burlesque, West Street Live, Sheffield.  To find out more, or to purchase admission at only £6 per person, please visit www.secretsoftheboudoirburlesque.com.

Much love,
