One Day Beginners Burlesque Course

We have been teaching our infamous ‘fun, friendly and affordable’ Burlesque Courses since 2011, producing pupils that have gone on to be very popular and successful Burlesque Performers such as Raven Noir. Secrets are passionate about teaching REAL burlesque skills and allowing our pupils to develop their own character and confidence, as a result of this, we DO NOT teach dance. If you are looking for a group dance class then our lessons might not be for you, our emphasis is on fun and individuality, not regiment and we prefer to focus on the more exciting burlesque skills such as stocking and glove removal, corsetry, character and confidence building.

Our tutors are Secrets Founder, Deadly Nightshade and Secrets Performer, Cherry Du Bois, their combined credentials include seven years performance and modelling experience and six years experience of showcasing very successful burlesque events and coaching new performers. Their success and reputable skills have been noted by the ‘Burlesque Bible’ and past pupils alike.

“Quite literally the most fun I’ve had in years!”

“I loved the Friendly, Girlie atmosphere and have made a couple of new friends too. I also loved having the opportunity to be creative and come up with the concept and choreography for my own routine. I now feel sexy again and ready to embrace my new found confidence.”

“I think the selling point for me is that this is not a class about learning to take your clothes off (stripping) it is about freedom, self expression and empowerment. Deadly and Cherry were both fabulous and supportive teachers, bringing a different approach and encouraging us to develop our own way to be Burlesque.”

“You will be amazed at the confidence, knowledge and friends you will gain in just a few short weeks, even if you don’t want to perform on stage, I would still say go for it, no matter what age you are, what weight you are you will be amazed at the power of a woman’s body, And how to use it.”

“Can’t even begin to say how amazing today’s workshop with Anna Fur Laxis was! Tons of tips, tricks, confidence boosting and awesomeness. LOVED IT!”

“Anna is pure grace, beauty and elegance personified. These qualities came through this entire AWESOME workshop as she shared her many insights into how to be confident on camera. Anna shared not only practical ways to perform in front of the camera, but also about more technical aspects and how to get into character. I learnt so many invaluable tips and ideas that I would never have thought about before attending this course, it has most certainly increased my confidence and got me happily posing away in front of a camera. It was also fabulous and fun.”

“Anna Fur Laxis is a wonderful teacher, kind and patient. Her advice proved invaluable, and her understanding of lack of confidence was sweet ad lovely. I’ve learned about technical aspects of photography, lighting, and a makeup trick I never knew! I can only say that I wish I could take more classes and workshops with her, as she is clearly a mine of information, fun and friendliness”
