We have fallen in Love...

We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who performed, attended or helped out at Secrets of the Boudoir Burlesque Falls in Love on Sunday!

The event was reviewed by the wonderful Sofire Rosa and will be featured in 'Toast' magazine and online Burlesque magazine, 'Debased' next month.

We fell head over heels for you all and our heads are now swimming with flowers, candy and the smell of sweet perfume and our hearts are heavy with obsession, desire and envy!

We would like to thank everyone who took part in our performer auction, especially those of you who bid on our delicious SotBB boys and girls!  Special mentions to Warren Peace, Deadly Nightshade and Duke O'Growl who achieved the highest bids of the night!  Also, let us give a big hand to our wonderful maid Stephanie, a.ka. Coco de Mol who did a wonderful job of tending the 'Love Booth' all night, serving you champagne and chocolates on your 'date' and generally just being as gorgeous and glamorous as possible!

We began our evening of luuurve by dishing up a big plate of 'Envy' as Cherry Du Bois and Deadly Nightshade fought for the affections of Knickerbockerglory at the on stage 'bus stop'!

Then we had Susie Von Garter perform her sickly sweet love heart shaped balloon pop, complete with heart shaped 'LollyPOP' which was used to pop her pink balloons.

Followed by the curvacious blonde Sian de Leir showing off her burning desire with a forbidden 'Fire Fan' act which left us all a-flame for her love.

We then had our hunk of the hour Duke O'Growl sing with the beautiful Knickerbockerglory and they both said 'Something stupid' like 'I Love You'!

All the way from London, Vivica Devine showed us what misplaced love is like when she fell for a vampire!

Then Pansy Cheung had us mesmerised with her belly dance of devotion and worship originating from Orissa, India.

We then welcomed Duke O'Growl back to the stage along with our sultry, sexy and down-right delicious compere Mr. Warren Peace as they sang a duet of epic proportions and Duke narrowly avoided a good touching...amongst other things!

The gorgeous Sian de Leir was then welcomed back to the stage as she decided whether 'He Loves me, He Loves me Not' whilst clutching a bouquet of red roses dressed in ruby red satin.

Duke O'Growl then serenaded his lucky date on stage and began to do her a little bit of a striptease...we are disappointed that this did not continue...and we will be having stern words...

Depravity Jane then took to the stage and showed us how an all American cow-girl falls in love, Jane style!

Vivica Devine then came back to walk down the aisle in a wedding dress only to get jilted at our on stage alter!  She then pulled some fabulous isis wings out of her wedding dress and whirled around the crowd deciding it hadn't been such an 'Imperfect Day' after all.

Making her debut solo performance we welcomed SotBB door-girl Scarlet Noir to the stage as she showed us the 'Crazy' side of love with a mad and hilarious routine involving the destruction of a teddy bear, a poster and some flowers...poor teddy...

Knickerbockerglory then sang 'Perhaps' to a coy Warren Peace, hoping for an answer and getting a kiss!

The svelte-like Warren Peace then owned our stage with his fabulous rendition of 'I Will Always Love You', teasing our audience along the way.

Duke O'Growl took to the stage for the very last time with Dante Powerhouse to sing another beautiful duet which set our hearts-a -flutter.

Finishing off the night perfectly was Depravity Jane wishing Deadly Nightshade a 'Happy Birthday' by presenting her with a Birthday cake.  Jane then teasingly rubbed the cake all over herself whilst Nightshade watched her Sailor Jerry's cake (hand-made by the 'Mad hatters Cupcake Co') get destroyed!

All in all, we had a wonderful night and experienced all sides of love!  A big thank you goes out to our three glamorous door-girls who just looked simply stunning all evening and to our D.J Mr. Vince Spitfire who always does a fabulous job.  He did a great job on Sunday having to cope with all manner of weird and wonderful song formats whilst feeling a little worse for wear!  We heart Vince!  Also, let's hear it for all of the guys and gals at West Street Live for allowing us to turn their venue into our own little love den for the evening...and to whoever had to clean up all of the cake...urm...sorry!

Much love,
Secrets of the Boudoir Burlesque.x

We heart Duke O'Growl

SotBB’S very own man-toy Mr Duke O’Gorgeous..urm...we mean Growl, has only gone and got himself a Facebook! Be sure to add him. He is HAWT. Need we say more?

Described as having “a voice to bewilder” by Sheffield Music Scene Magazine, Duke is not just a pretty face! “Mr O’Growl provides sovereign old fashioned sing a longs which make a fair interlude between the adorable ladies of the Burlesque acts”.

We are not quite sure how Duke stumbled into our clutches, but we are sure glad that he did and everyone at SotBB is holding on tightly…He makes the blood rush to our…well…urm…shall we say…our frillies…!

Duke will be singing plenty of “heart tickling flushed sonatas” at‘Secrets of the Boudoir Burlesque Falls in Love’ on the 5th September, so come along and see him growl into a microphone for your pleasure! If that wasn’t enough to get your pulses racing and your panties in a twist, you will also have the exclusive opportunity to bid for him in our performer auction!

A date with Duke O’Growl? Imagine that! (We already have and we are jealous in anticipation of the highest bidder *scowl*). If you manage to out-bid the rest of the competition, not only will you get a 10 minute date with Duke in our ‘love booth’ during the show; where you will get the chance to enjoy a free glass of bubbly with him and a box of chocolates, but you will also get lovingly serenaded by him on the SotBB stage beforehand. Ooooh we hate you already!

So come along to ‘Secrets of the Boudoir Burlesque Falls in Love’ in Sheffield at West Street Live on the 5th September 2010 from 7.00pm onwards and find the time to fall in love with our Duke of hearts.

*Sigh*

Delicious Door Girl blossoms into budding Burlesque Beauty

Secrets of the Boudoir Burlesque is proud to announce that the gorgeous Scarlet Noir will be performing for us at September's show.

Most of you will know Scarlet best as Sarah, our gorgeous door girl who has worked hard on the door of SotBB since we began in March 2008.  You will have seen Scarlet and her heaving corset-bound cleavage walking amongst our audience handing out candy on a cigarette tray, selling raffle tickets and taking names down on the door!

At our last show, 'Secrets of the Boudoir Burlesque Goes to the Circus', Sarah bravely donned the name 'Scarlet Noir' and took to the stage with her beautiful twin sister Cherry Du Bois!  They both delighted us with a cute and comical jiggling and juggling routine which went down a treat with all involved in the show!

On September 5th, Scarlet returns to Secrets of the Boudoir Burlesque as our delicious door girl (because, let's face it...you wouldn't want to walk into SotBB and see any other face greeting you on the door!)  but, she also returns to our stage with a daring new solo routine so that you can 'Fall in Love' with her all over again!

Scarlet will also be up for auction along with most of our other performers at 'Secrets of the Boudoir Burlesque Falls in Love' so you will get the chance to bid for a fun 10 minute date with her during the show!

Don't delay, purchase your admission today at http://www.secretsoftheboudoirburlesque.com/!

She was a finalist in the 2009 London Tournament of Tease and has performed at various shows across the UK. Whilst based in the Medway Towns, no distance is too far to travel for a performance."

Burlesque finds love....

This September Secrets of the Boudoir Burlesque Falls in Love...

Combining Burlesque and Love in a stage show that will melt your hearts...

The following is a definition of the word 'Burlesque' from Wikipedia-
"Burlesque is a humorous theatrical entertainment involving parody and sometimes grotesque exaggeration. In 20th century America, the form became associated with a variety show in which striptease is the chief attraction."

Followed by a definition of the word 'Love' from Wikipedia-
"Love is any of a number of emotions related to a sense of strong affection[1] and attachment. The word love can refer to a variety of different feelings, states, and attitudes, ranging from generic pleasure ("I loved that meal") to intense interpersonal attraction ("I love my wife"). This diversity of uses and meanings, combined with the complexity of the feelings involved, makes love unusually difficult to consistently define, even compared to other emotional states.

As an abstract concept, love usually refers to a deep, ineffable feeling of tenderly caring for another person. Even this limited conception of love, however, encompasses a wealth of different feelings, from the passionate desire and intimacy of romantic love to the nonsexual emotional closeness of familial and platonic love[2] to the profound oneness or devotion of religious love.[3] Love in its various forms acts as a major facilitator of interpersonal relationships and, owing to its central psychological importance, is one of the most common themes in the creative arts."
