Supernova Stars
This January, come to Secrets of the Boudoir Burlesque to see the brightest stars in the burlesque sky shining on our stage in our spectacular 'Supernova' event.
Taking place in Sheffield's oldest live music venue, The Leadmill. Founded in 1980 The Leadmill has hosted some of the biggest live acts in the world and 'Supernova' will be no exception as it hosts the best in British and International burlesque talent on the circuit today. The Leadmill is now established as Sheffield's premier live music venue and 'Supernova' remains Secrets of the Boudoir Burlesque's premium show, whilst still remaining true to our strong belief in providing fun, friendly and affordable entertainment. We can GUARANTEE that you will not be able to find a burlesque show of this calibre anywhere cheaper in Sheffield with tickets at just £13.50 for a table seat and £10.50 for standing.
There will also be a number of stalls at our event, displaying some fantastic little items from jewellery to cupcakes, so you can have a little shop before the show if you wish!
With cocktails from the bar and free entry into The Leadmill's club night after the show finishes at 11.00pm, you are getting a lot of bang for your buck this January.
So without further a do, let us meet the stars of this January's 'Supernova':
MILLIE DOLLAR:

An enigmatic international artist originally from Vancouver, now based in the UK, Domino has headlined stages across the globe, performing in Canada, Italy, USA, Switzerland, Germany, Ireland, Austria and the United Kingdom. With an illustrious and exciting background in the performing arts, Domino draws on all her passion for the exotic and the unusual, theatrics and Olde-world glamour and will be joining us at 'Supernova' to debut a brand new act that has not yet been seen by Sheffield audiences...
VELMA VON BON BON:
Velma Von Bon Bon bursts onto the stage with confidence, fresh and unique ideas and the most spectacular costumes. She is currently setting tongues wagging all over the country with her memorable routines, which blend comedy, satire and sexy perfectly.

Dolly Rose at Secrets of the Boudoir Burlesque
A petite platinum blonde with a passion for vintage dance styles and music, Miss Dolly Rose performs burlesque inspired by the sweethearts and sirens of early Hollywood, recreating the allure of silver screen starlets and good time dancing girls. With her beautiful bespoke and vintage costuming and expertly choreographed routines, she evokes the heyday of MGM musicals, Fred and Ginger, chorus girls and early jazz and swing music...and...THIS Saturday she comes to Secrets of the Boudoir Burlesque to perform not one, but two classic routines.
Specialising in authentic vintage dance styles from the golden age of glamour and classic burlesque with her own unique twist, Dolly is a talented dancer with skills ranging from tap and Charleston through to lindy hop and other swing dance styles - having been taught by some of the UK and Europe's top vintage dance experts, she has not only the looks but the moves of an early Hollywood star.
A burlesque artist in high demand, Miss Dolly Rose is a resident performer at some of London's top cabaret venues; with acts that range from sweet cheesecake to dark, hypnotizing glamour, she has performed at prestigious events throughout the country, and delighted audiences across the UK with her charming take on classic burlesque.
We cannot wait to have her perform at Secrets of the Boudoir Burlesque 'Supernova' on the 28th July 2012.
Tickets are almost sold out, get yours while you still can from www.secretsoftheboudoirburlesque.com

We ❤ Duke O'Growl
The singing sensation Duke O'Growl will not only be singing at 'Supernova' on Saturday, but he will now also be Compering the show as well...
...Renowned at Secrets for growling sexily into a microphone for your pleasure all night long...Duke is delicious, dashing and debonair...
Described as having “a voice to bewilder” by Sheffield Music Scene Magazine, Duke is classy, soulful and handsome with a cheeky charm that has made him a Secrets favourite and regular. Duke fronts a seven piece Soul&Blues Review Band when he is not performing at Secrets, and the rest of his time is spent producing music as a debonair solo artist.
Duke has recently sang for Royalty, impressing the likes of, not only Prince William and Kate, but also Prince Harry. In fact, Prince Harry liked the Duke so much that he let him spank his Royal bottom... but that is a different story entirely....

Oxfam
Oxfam was a charity set up in 1942 to provide relief for Greek civilians during World War 2. Oxfam say "We’ve always been rather vocal about ending poverty. We’ve taken on governments, international organisations and corporations. We took out ads in the 50s (unprecedented!), defied restrictions by helping the people of Cambodia in ’79 (groundbreaking!), and harassed numerous G8 conferences (ongoing!)". Today, Oxfam deals with Global crisis such as the one in Somalia, where Oxfam and its local partners are providing lifesaving assistance to families struggling in the face of famine and conflict.
Oxfam have pioneered lots of new fundraising ideas in their time and in 2006 they began 'Oxjam' - the biggest music festival in the country right now. Oxjam is a series of musical events/gigs which take place throughout October, organised by local people/artists/bands/musicians to raise money for Oxfam. Secrets of the Boudoir Burlesque decided to get involved with this festival this year, and, like Oxfam, we have decided to think outside of the box and hold a burlesque event, rather than a band/gig/musical event to raise money. We have decided to combine twirling tassles and collection tins to shake up some money for this wonderful charity.
With our biggest raffle to date and a record number of performers from outside of Sheffield, this show promises to be rather spectacular. We have a garden of Eden, feathers, fans, champagne and Charlie Chaplin! That's right - Charlie Chaplin!
So come along to West Street Live on Sunday the 16th of October and join in the fun, friskiness and fundraising! The price of your advance admission (£6) can buy school dinners for 100 children living in developing countries, so what are you waiting for? www.secretsoftheboudoirburlesque.com
Do You Need Further Proof of the Fantastic work Oxfam Does?
Sierra Leone is a West African country with a population of 6 million and is one of the least developed countries in the World.
45% of the population are children.
1 in 3 will die before the age of 5.
In the poorest area of the country only 40% have access to clean water and only 13% have access to a toilet.
Oxfam help by setting up a Community Hygiene Group:
They identify the best place to put a water pump.
They train the community to use it.
Then allow the villagers to build the latrines that Oxfam donates.
They teach hygiene to the community and build drying racks and washing lines.
£12 (two tickets to our Oxjam event) can buy a Hygiene Kit for one family.
£50 (25 raffle tickets for our Oxjam event) can buy materials to build clean toilets.
£3,000 can provide one well to provide clean water for one village.
So please, purchase your admission to a fabulous variety show today and donate to Oxfam.
Secrets of the Boudoir Burlesque Does Oxjam is sponsored by Vivien of Holloway. www.vivienofholloway.com.
